On Friday evening Sabumnim Michael Nguyen and a small team of competitors drove to the annual Mildura United ITF taekwon-do tournament run by Mr Darren Williams from Ataru International Taekwon-Do. They drove through the night to arrive early Saturday morning to be greeted and billeted by Miss Natalie Jewels family.
Saturday morning after a short rest, We were given a lovely tour of Mildura city. The team then met their local Taekwon-Do brothers and sisters of Mildura for a light training session.
Sunday morning went off to a flying start with everyone weighing in successfully. Sabumnim Michael Nguyen started the medal count taking out Gold in the Senior Dan patterns division. More medals were soon to follow. A special mention to Miss Natalie Jewell who returned from retirement to take out 2 gold, 1 bronze and Overall female Champion of the tournament.

It was great experience for all the students. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. It was nice to be able to compete against Taekwon-Doist from all around Australia inside Victoria. It was a very enjoyable day. Many new friendships were made. Looking forward to the next event.
